Privacy Policy
This privacy notice sets out how Course de l'Espoir Genève ("we", "us", "our") collects, processes and shares personal data when you visit this website. We aim to be minimal collectors of personal data and to be transparent about the processing that does take place. Where we act as a data controller, we do so on the lawful bases set out below.
What data we collect
When you browse the site, our web server automatically records standard access-log data — your IP address (truncated for storage), the pages you request, the user-agent string sent by your browser, and the timestamp of the request. This data is used for aggregate traffic analysis and for security purposes (rate-limiting, abuse detection). It is stored for 30 days and then deleted.
We do not use any first-party analytics that persists identifiers across sessions. We do not use tracking pixels associated with advertising networks. We do not set advertising or personalisation cookies. The only cookie we set is a strictly-necessary preference cookie that records whether you have dismissed the cookie notice.
If you send us an email, we retain the content of that email for as long as necessary to respond and, for editorial-correspondence categories, for up to two years for record-keeping purposes.
Lawful bases for processing
Access-log processing is carried out under the lawful basis of legitimate interest (site security and operation). Email correspondence is processed under the lawful basis of legitimate interest (responding to correspondence you have initiated). We do not process any special-category personal data.
Sharing and international transfers
We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We use standard operational sub-processors — a hosting provider, a domain registrar, and an email provider — each of whom acts under a data-processing agreement compliant with UK GDPR. Where any of these operate outside the UK, transfers rely on the UK international data transfer addendum or an adequacy regulation as appropriate.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to request rectification of inaccurate data, to request deletion where the lawful basis for processing has ended, and to object to further processing. Because we hold very little personal data by design, most such requests can be resolved by deleting the relevant email correspondence and any residual access-log entries. Contact [email protected].

Changes to this notice
